Ana Maria Pălăduș

An immersive journey into the poli-crisis society

An economist by profession, Ana-Maria Pălăduș holds a Master’s degree in International Economic Relations from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris (Sciences Po). Between 2007 and 2008, she worked at the International Energy Agency (IEA), focusing on energy efficiency and urban energy consumption. During this time, she contributed to one of the first scientific studies addressing the role of cities in energy consumption and their climate impact.
In 2006, she co-founded REPER21, an organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable development in Romania. As part of this initiative, she has led various projects on responsible consumption, sustainable project management, climate education, green public procurement, and climate change. Since 2023, she has been managing the European Climate Pact in Romania on behalf of REPER21, working closely with a network of 31 climate ambassadors across the country. Over the years, she has trained more than 1,000 citizens, teachers, civil servants, and activists nationwide on sustainability topics.
Ana-Maria Pălăduș is also actively involved in community resilience initiatives. Since 2017, she has been the co-founder and president of GAL Turnu21, one of the first urban Local Action Groups (LAGs) in Romania, which focuses on inclusive and sustainable development in the most vulnerable urban areas of Turnu Măgurele.
On a personal level, since becoming Vladimir’s mother, five years ago, Ana-Maria Pălăduș has been increasingly engaged in “climate parenting”, a relatively new concept in Romania. Through this approach, she seeks to raise awareness about how climate change will shape the way we raise our children and prepare them for the future.
